The additions – located in Rotterdam, London, Paris, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Dusseldorf and Zurich, with two in Copenhagen and a further two in Berlin – bring the company’s total European PoP count to 86.
“Traditional internet exchanges focus on single metropolitan areas, NL-IX however has taken the model of the internet exchange to a new level,” said Jan Hoogenboom, founder of NL-IX.
“This means that networks can hop on our peering VLAN on all 86 PoPs and exchange traffic for q flat rate per port, all over Europe.”
NL-IX has plans to connect Stockholm, Marseille and Milan in the near future, and expects to connect its 100th data centre in Q1 2016.
