GCAs: Verizon Partner Solutions - Where are they now?

Next up in the GCAs: where are they now series is Verizon Partner Solutions, a company that is leading the charge in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

Winners of the best Inclusion & Diversity Initiative at the 2020 Global Carrier Awards, it was said that “diversity, Inclusion and Belonging hold extra special importance at Verizon Partner Solutions both internally and externally, and that has shown through [its] nomination,” commented the judges.

“Its president, Eric Cevis is an ardent defensor of equality and was the catalyst behind the recently formed Global Leaders’ Forum Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Working Group.”

Since its win, the company continues to drive a plethora of internal diversity initiatives partnering the likes of Verizon’s Global Diversity Equity and Inclusion organisation, leveraging the Women’s Association of Verizon Employees (WAVE) and relaunching the Women of the World Program, as resources to identify opportunities to move the conversation forward.

In line with International Women’s Day, the company also announced the Women’s CoLab, a platform to support women due to the growing number women leaving the workforce at unprecedented rates due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The project is comprised of the Verizon Business Women’s Leadership Digital Summit, due to take place later this year; the Women Own Wednesday Social Campaign, a social media campaign that spotlight’s female entrepreneurs and small business owners; and lastly the Verizon Women’s CoLab, will create collaborative career engine for women everywhere that gives women access to together resources to help them progress in their careers.

As for its work with the ITW Global Leaders Forum (GLF), for which Cevis is chair of its diversity, inclusion and belonging working group, he shared that the body is focused on developing shared learnings, hosting panels at various events, creating mentor programs for women in the industry and benchmarking the status and impact gender diversity initiatives in their own organisation.

Spearheaded by Cevis, the group is also currently surveying its members for the next industry white paper that plans to focus on racial and social equity and is expected to be released in line with the ITW conference in August 2021.
