Telxius has announced plans to deploy a presence in the phoenixNAP data centre in Phoenix, Arizona.

The launch of this presence will give phoenixNAP clients access to Telxius’ Tier 1 IP network, while in turn benefit from additional interconnectivity points to its global network.

“We are looking forward to working with phoenixNAP and unveiling new opportunities in the local market,” added Enrique Valdés (pictured), VP of sales, northern region, at Telxius. “phoenixNAP offers us resources to establish our presence in an area that is strategic for us in order to better serve the US West Coast and Latin America as well as adding new points of presence to our global network of advanced IP, capacity and colocation services. We will closely work with their expert staff on promoting new interconnection opportunities, network security, and data centre resilience incorporating subsea enablement.”

As a Tier 1 ISP, Telxius will provide quality Internet Transit to the customers in the data centre. Through phoenixNAP’s global data centre network, Telxius will further improve its connectivity to support the growing needs for high-speed network services.

“The establishment of Telxius will provide our clients with access to additional global fibre routes for minimised latency and ultra-high performance,” said Ian McClarty, president at phoenixNAP. “As an infrastructure company Telxius will significantly boost our capacity to support global businesses and organisations that handle latency-sensitive or demanding cloud applications. We are excited about this collaboration and are looking forward to developing a closer business relationship with Telxius.”

phoenixNAP’s carrier-neutral data centre in Phoenix gives organisations direct connections to over thirty major network, bandwidth and telecom providers in the world, including AWS Direct Connect. With such diverse carrier options and strategically positioned global nodes, phoenixNAP is one of the major interconnectivity hubs in Phoenix.

In April, phoenixNAP added three new locations to its global data centre network in US, Europe and Australia. While in March Telxius partnered with Telia Carrier for multi-terabit capacity services joining together capacity from Telxius’ MAREA cable and Telia Carrier’s European network.
