PacketFabric has partnered with Asian subsea services provider StrataNet to expand its connectivity-as-a-service platform into Asia

.The agreement will see PacketFabric leverage StrataNet’s secure and private intra-Asia capacity to expand its software-defined network (SDN) into several markets in Asia.

StrataNet’s pan-Asian network spans over 120,000km of subsea fibre cable linking more than 50 locations in 12 Asian countries and the US. To the capacity buying market, StrataNet provides access to over 13TBPs of capacity on six key cable-systems - Apcn-2, Asia America Gateway (AAG), Asia Pacific Gateway (APG), Asia Submarine Cable Express (ASE), Japan – US Southeast Asia Japan (SJC) and LXT-  under a single model.

The partnership with PacketFabric means StrataNet will gain instant access to 19 additional markets as well as 150 colocation facilities across the US. It will also mean its customers gain the ability to reach Europe.

StrataNet will be able to leverage PacketFabric’s secure, flexible network, offering its customers instantaneous and private connectivity to all locations offered by the platform.

“We’re excited to partner with PacketFabric,” states StrataNet CEO Chris de Josselin. “This mutually-beneficial partnership will also expand StrataNet’s North American footprint, enabling us to serve a wider range of customers beyond Asia across the continental United States, with an extremely fast time to market.”

Earlier this year, PacketFabric expanded its network reach to London by launching a presence in Equinix’s LD6 International Business Exchange – the company’s first data centre presence outside of the US. The partnership with StrataNet means the platform will now also be available in several Asian markets.

“Most of our focus had been on establishing a robust, reliable network footprint throughout the United States,” explains Chad Milam, president and COO, PacketFabric. “Our partnership with StrataNet will allow us to bring our network to new markets in Asia and offer reliable, private access to network and cloud environments throughout our ecosystem, regardless of physical location. We couldn’t be more excited about redefining the way clients in the Asian market procure and manage network connectivity within the region and the rest of the world.”
