Keri Gilder has joined the European competitive telecommunications association (ecta) CEO Council following her appointment to the position of CEO at Colt Technology Systems.

The ecta CEO Council describes itself as an advisory body supporting ecta‘s board and director general in their corporate objectives, and in synchronising messaging at a high level.

Commenting on her membership, Gilder said: “The collaboration of our industry during the Covid-19 pandemic is one of the key factors which contributed to our sectors’ success in the midst of such an unprecedented time. I am excited to be joining the ecta CEO Council because I believe carrying on this collaboration and working towards a unified industry approach will be critical for all our successes moving forward.”

Gilder is joined on the council by: Alberto Calcagno, CEO, Fastweb SpA; Alex Goldblum, CEO, Eurofiber; Jean-Marc Harion, CEO, PLAY; Maxime Lombardini, VC of the board of directors, Iliad; Panos Papadopoulos, CEO, Forthnet; Meinrad Spenger, CEO, Masmovil; Norbert Westfal, managing director, EWE TEL; Martin Witt, CEO, 1&1 Telecommunication SE; and David Zimmer, CEO, Inexio.

Welcoming Gilder to the council, ecta director general Luc Hindryckx said: “Competitors in telecoms play a driving role in European post-Covid-19 recovery by serving all sectors of the EU economy. Here, it is a particular asset for ecta to be able to draw on Keri’s support as the leader of a recognised innovator and pioneer in new network technologies like software defined networks (SDN) and network function virtualisation (NFV).

“Her understanding of the regulatory challenges that come with Industry 4.0 will also be of outstanding value to the association.”

Gilder joined Colt from Ciena as COO in 2018. This May she was promoted to CEO following the news that Carl Grivner was to leave the company. It has since been reported that Grivner has been appointed CEO of Global Cloud Xchange (GCX).
