China Telecom has become an AMS-IX partner, enabling remote access to the Amsterdam internet exchange’s peering service to over 800 parties to their customers.

“With their large communications network that stretches across Europe, Russia and a large part of Asia, China Telecom is the perfect partner to improve access to AMS-IX and consequently, growing our peering community,” an AMS-IX statement read.

China Telecom's Euro-Asia Network Solution (ENS) facilitates” mission-critical applications for multinational customers and global carriers”, offering connectivity between all major POPs in Europe and Asia.

The news comes after last month’s announcement that AMS-IX bought a data interconnect platform from Huawei.
