Telstra has partnered with IBM’s file transfer company Aspera to deliver a jointly-built media networking solution, designed to facilitate video contribution and distribution.

The move is aimed at supportingTelstra’s Digital Video Network (DVN), which targets the multi-platform needs of broadcast and media organisations.

The integration of Aspera into Telstra DVN is said to enable customers to achieve securely transfer media file within their environments and the Telstra DVN Media Community.

Aspera will be deployed within a Telstra hosting environment based in Australia and will be available in two editions of the Managed File Transfer application; Web Edition and the upcoming Server Edition.

"Aspera is already a leading technology used in the media community. Together with DVN's high bandwidth connectivity and unmatched national footprint, it provides a highly compelling capability," said Boyd Faulkes, director of industry solutions for Telstra Global Products and Solutions.
