Five new people have joined the board of MEF – the former Metro Ethernet Forum – following the annual MEF members meeting in Philadelphia this week.

MEF said the new board includes an experienced team of service and technology executives committed to accelerating adoption of assured MEF 3.0 services across a global federation of automated networks.

Nan Chen (pictured), president of the organisation, said: “Our mission to deliver a practical framework and roadmap for service providers and their vendors to drive innovation in our industry will be advanced all the more quickly with the support of such a powerful group representing the industry’s more influential business, technology, and thought leaders.”

The five new members – all men – are:

  • Andrew Dugan, CTO of CenturyLink;

  • Daniele Mancuso, VP of ICT engineering at Sparkle;

  • Robert Victor, senior VP of product management at Comcast Business;

  • Jeremy Wubs, senior VP of marketing for Bell Business Markets, Bell Canada; and

  • Franck Morales, VP for connectivity services at Orange Business Services, who is an advisory director.

They join the 10-man board and seven-man team of officers.

MEF said that the geographic representation of major service providers on the board “directly reflects MEF’s transformational influence on communication services worldwide”.

Chen said: “Having such a diverse, innovative board, so deeply experienced with our industry and committed to our mission, brings incredible value to the MEF community as we strive to deliver solutions optimised for digital transformation.”

Here is a full list of the board plus an advisory director: Nan Chen, senior advisor, Ericsson; Frederick Chui, chief commercial officer, PCCW Global; Andrew Dugan, CTO, CenturyLink; Shawn Hakl, SVP, business products, Verizon; Daniele Mancuso, VP ICT engineering, Sparkle; Roman Pacewicz, chief product officer, AT&T Business; Ralph Santitoro, head of SDN/NFV/SD-WAN services, Fujitsu Network Communications; Michael Strople, president Allstream, managing director, Canada, Zayo; Robert Victor, SVP of product management, Comcast Business; Mirko Voltolini, global head of network on demand, Colt.

Chen said: “I personally want to thank our outgoing board members, Kevin O’Toole from Comcast Business, Rami Yaron from Infovista, and our outgoing advisory board member Jean-Claude Geha from Deutsche Telekom, for their outstanding contributions in helping lead MEF’s work towards realizing the MEF 3.0 vision.”

Capacity reported last week that Geha has left Deutsche Telekom to join Tofane Group’s iBasis as chief operating officer.
