Colt Data Centre Services expands presence in Japan
Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) has expanded its operations in Japan with the launch of a new data centre in the country.
Located within the Inzai campus, Inzai 3 has a completion date of Q4 2020 and will become the company’s largest data centre in Japan. The new facility will be a 27MW hyperscale site with 8,000sqm of server space. In addition, the facility will also feature 1,000sqm data centre halls in response to customer demand for more space that enables the optimisation of space efficiency and requirement for higher density compute.
“The expansion of the campus with Inzai 3 is a direct response to the regional demand for more cloud-based services,” said Detlef Spang (pictured), CEO at Colt DCS. “We are bringing more capacity online due to the customer success we are experiencing. We have a strong track record of designing and building hyper-scale data centres, which has seen us, become the most trusted and reliable provider in the market in delivering to the requirements that global cloud- service-providers need. The success of the Inzai campus means that it has become a location of choice for CSP’s in the region due to the location, network connectivity and dark fibre solutions which are all accessible from this site,”
Inzai 3 will be the final data centre in the Inzai campus brining the site to its total build capacity. Inzai 1 was completed in January 2011 and Inzai 2 was completed just 12 months ago. The development of Inzai 3 comes in response to growing demand by the hyperscale cloud service providers (CSPs).
“If the launch of our Inzai 2 facility is anything to go by - where we sold out the capacity within nine months of completion, we are confident that the prelaunch of Inzai 3 will supersede the success in uptake of available capacity at this site prior to completion,” added Quy Nguyen, vice president of global accounts and solutions, Colt DCS.
