The two US PoPs add to the Telenor network which now includes 14 locations across North America, Europe and Asia.
“As a mobile operator, our focus is to deliver the same level of premium voice quality to our carrier customers as we are doing with our own mobile subscribers. At the same time we are developing and growing our digital services portfolio, IPX-based services in particular. For our end-users, this means that the US PoPs combine the best of both worlds: enhanced voice quality along with superior data and signalling connectivity,” said Wansit Jeremy Saiyawan, chief sales officer of global wholesale in Telenor.
“For the first time Telenor offers direct access to North America, which enhances local switching capabilities and caters to Latin America. Adding the PoPs alongside our local office in Miami is a huge step towards meeting customer demands and continue growing in the region.”
The Telenor Global IPX network is an all IP-based network, built upon a carrier-grade routing platform and network links with guaranteed capacity able to provide strict Quality of Service. The market trends on exponential growth in data usage clearly show that users demand high-speed data access anytime, anywhere.
“High quality networks that support these connectivity requirements are critical. With the US PoP solution in place, Telenor responds to customer needs in a key market. Meeting our partners locally for IPX-based services results in improving the QoS and speed. This combined with competitive price offering from Telenor ensures an all in one solution,” added Rickard Widerberg, Telenor’s chief marketing officer of global wholesale.
“Telenor is currently rolling out new services, such as A2P messaging and with HD voice in the pipeline; we are dedicated to help our customers succeed and continue growing in the region.”
