EE’s record year is good news for BT
UK operator EE added 5.7 million 4G customers to its network in 2014, surpassing its year-end target.
EE claims the figure is a record in Europe, and brings its total 4G customer base to 7.7 million.
It follows a year of significant network expansion, with EE adding 210 towns across the UK to its network.
Its performance in 2014 will be welcome news to BT, which has entered in to exclusive talks to acquire the operator for £12.5 billion.
