Telstra deploys PoPs in Taiwan

Telstra Global has added two PoPs in Taiwan, as it aims to strengthen its network across Asia-Pacific.

The move is aimed at keeping pace with increasing customer demand and is said to help multinational organisations tap into new opportunities in the region.

The PoPs were delivered within four months and will be monitored by Telstra Global’s NOC and its Customer Control Centre; a unified portal interface designed to enhance communications between the company and its customers.

"Taiwan is an epicentre for Asian exports and a crucial supply chain for major electronics brands globally, so these new PoPs will deliver even greater speed and reliability for our local customers, while reaffirming our ongoing commitment to serving the needs of multinational customers operating throughout Asia-Pacific,” said Bernadette Noujaim Baldwin, Telstra Global's head of connectivity and platforms portfolio.

Telstra operates more than 2,000 PoPs worldwide across 230 countries. In January, it launched four PoPs in Europe and the US, and also entered a partnership with Infinera to upgrade capacity on three of its subsea cables.
