Huawei set to open new R&D facility in Japan

Chinese vendor Huawei Technologies is to open a new Research and Development facility in Yokohama, Japan.

It is thought the development has been made to accommodate many of the company’s suppliers and information communication technology companies which are located in the city, according to local Japanese reports.

Huawei will move its two R&D facilities in Japan, presently located in Tokyo, into the new facility in Yokohama’s Kanagawa Ward.

The facility in Yokohama will employ upto 100 researchers, doubling the amount from its two Tokyo bases, which employs 40 people at present.

Huawei intends the new facilities to respond better to demands from Japanese customers and develop new products and technologies.
