Nokia Siemens Networks partners with CDNetworks

Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CDNetworks to accelerate the growth of its applications and Content Delivery Networks (CDN) business.

The companies have pledged a commitment to taking concrete steps to transform the delivery of content from base stations, while bidding to enhance the Liquid Applications suite for a range of content initiatives.

Both NSN and CDNetworks will work together to create new technologies, with a further aim to create awareness of user behavior and real time network conditions as the industry steps up its commitment to enhancing mobile broadband experience.

“Our collaboration with CDNetworks demonstrates our commitment to developing new applications that accelerate content delivery to increase performance and service quality, as well as reducing congestion and transport costs,” said Dirk Lindemeier, head of Liquid Net at Nokia Siemens Networks.

As part of NSN’s Liquid Applications portfolio, the move is designed to change the way personalised applications are used, with the vendor aiming to analyse trends in the way consumers use data on mobile phones.

“Mobile operators can enhance the user experience of their subscribers and enjoy cost savings with CDNetworks’ mobile CDN technology. Collaborating with Nokia Siemens Networks, CDNetworks hopes to further advance its innovative mobile acceleration technology that will benefit operators and enterprise customers alike,” added Jongchan Kim, head of Technology at CDNetworks.
