STC expands FTTH coverage

Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) has increased its FTTH network coverage to connect 600,000 locations across the country.

The company’s fibre-optic network has a total length of 6,000km and provides services to households across Saudi Arabia at up to 1,000Mbps.

Customers are expected to benefit from services such as IPTV and video-on-demand (VoD), as well as social communication and gaming services.

STC serves over 200,000 customers with FTTH and hopes the expansion to allow for the delivery of faster broadband connectivity to its customers.

Earlier this year, STC’s CEO, Khaled al-Ghoneim, resigned from his position after just one year in the role.
