Vodafone India to improve SME offering

Vodafone India is to make a push in the country’s Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector, including mobility, connectivity and cloud computing services, according to local reports.

PTI news agency cites Vodafone India EVP and head of SME business, Depak Pande, as saying that the SME sector is the fastest growing market which is why Vodafone was looking to improve its offering.

The Vodafone suite will consist of three kinds of products, including wireless voice and data, connectivity such as internet lease lines and cloud computing.

"Right now we are offering mobility and connectivity services while the cloud computing products will be made available by the end of this financial year," Pande told the news agency.

To expand its network reach to SMEs, Vodafone is reportedly planning to roll out to 300 towns within a year, while also tripling channel partners to 100 during the period.

India has an estimated 4.5 million SMEs; of these approximately 80,000 are Vodafone customers.
