Telefónica and Ooredoo sign strategic agreement
05 March 2015 |
Telefónica and Ooredoo have signed a strategic partnership agreement, primarily to explore potential synergies in procurement.
Both organisations will leverage economies of scale and experience in centralised procurement, as well as work towards coordinating selected purchases, including technical alignment of specifications, selection of vendors and synchronised negotiations.
Ooredoo hopes the move will bring optimisation to its affiliate companies for the purchase of network and customer equipment.
The carriers will also explore other potential areas of collaboration such as M2M, managed mobility and data services, staff development and training programmes, international wholesale and various others.
Ooredoo is also part of an alliance with Orange, Bharti Aitrel and Telenor, designed to implement a set of industry principals across a range of services and platforms.
