Evolve IP managed to rollout – in a matter of days - Oracle’s Session Border Controller (SBC) to enable secure IP-based access for their hosted contact centre software as well as other services such as SIP trunking, hosted business telephony, CRM integration, and fixed-mobile integration.
"At Evolve IP, we are committed to evolving our network, positioning ourselves to support the anticipated traffic growth and value-added services our customers will require in the future. It is clear to us that moving to the cloud will be critical in meeting these goals. We see Oracle as an expert in cloud, virtualization, IT, and telecommunications and have found that its Oracle Communications SBC offers unique strengths in all of these areas," said Michiel van Dis, managing director, Evolve IP Europe.
Oracle’s SBC offers strong security, high availability, and interoperability for enterprise VoIP and unified communications networks. The virtualised edition ensures enterprises can easily migrate across a range of cloud deployment models, enabling real-time communications and the high customer service to its users.
"Today's progressive operators recognize the benefits of virtualization and have made adopting cloud technologies the cornerstones of their network evolutions," added Doug Suriano, senior vice president and general manager at Oracle Communications. "With Oracle Communications SBC, Evolve IP has the network foundation it needs to provide its users with highly reliable voice, video and unified communications services while mitigating security threats and solving interoperability issues as they progress toward the future."
In February, Oracle unveiled its plans to launch 12 new data centre regions, expanding its new enterprise cloud platform to Asia. Locations include China, India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and South Korea, whilst also expanding its presence in Europe (Amsterdam and Switzerland) and North America (Canada and the US). Currently, Oracle hosts the cloud platform in two locations in the US and one in Europe. The two new sites in the US will aim to support Department of Defense clients, Oracle said.
