AMS-IX US expands its global reach through PacketFabric’s 130 locations

AMS-IX and PacketFabric announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding to connect their respective services.

“AMS-IX has the strategic intent to further grow our presence in the United States,” said Job Witteman, CEO of AMS-IX. “Working together and integrating our services with PacketFabric allows customers to interconnect virtually with AMS-IX through a single connection, which is beneficial to our customers as well as to PacketFabric and AMS-IX. Everyone gets the best of all worlds.”

Technical deployment is set for August 2017. As a result AMS-IX internet exchanges in the Bay Area, Chicago and New York will be able to use PacketFabric’s network technology solution, providing access to AMS-IX from an additional 130 locations on top of the existing connectivity methods.

The AMS-IX platform offers IP interconnection and peering services for all types of IP traffic, including: traditional data, VoIP, mobile traffic and video. Through peering, networks can provide their end-users, both consumers and businesses, with stable, fast, and cost-efficient internet services.

PacketFabric has also partnered with DE-CIX, IX-Denver and United IX’s Chicago Internet Exchange (ChIX) to kick off its IX extension service.

These partnerships will allow PacketFabric to offer a wider range of interconnection services through its network, as well as enabling its ecosystem partners to reach additional markets and new customers.
