Alcatel-Lucent has enabled Windstream to launch Kinetic, a next-generation television service – alternative to satellite and cable – offering high-quality IPTV services to customers across Nebraska, US.
As Windstream’s chosen systems integrator for Kinetic, Alcatel-Lucent provided its Velocix CDN solution, as well as consulting and professional services for network design, systems integration, deployment, and commissioning of the entire Windstream IPTV delivery solution.
“Leveraging our 100% fibre-backed network, Kinetic is a true game changer, one that makes the content and features customers demand from their TV provider a standard,” said Bryan Brooks, VP of business development and video at Windstream.
Kinetic features high definition channels, whole home DVR service, wireless set top boxes and instant channel change, provided at no additional charge.
“Alcatel-Lucent’s approach to IP video services and systems integration allows us to bring best-in-class solutions for each component of the IPTV network,” said Paul Larbey, head of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP video business.
“In this way, we were able to design and build the solution that exactly meets Windstream’s needs today and that will allow them to evolve and grow in the future to adopt new services as customers’ demands change.”
