Level 3 Communications has partnered with engineering company Dematic to provide it with VPN services.
Dematic provides intelligent warehouse logistics and materials-handling solutions, which Level 3 will support by extending the level of virtualisation of its enterprise applications, making them available to users throughout its global operations.
Dematic has deployed Level 3's VPN solution at 15 sites around the world, including Europe, the US and Latin America.
The company says it selected Level 3 for its reliability and cost-effectiveness. The Level 3 VPN will allow Dematic to add or upgrade network locations in a short period to time to meet the dynamic demands of Dematic's business.
"Level 3 offered the only solution tailored to our exact needs," said Eckhard Freund, manager of IT infrastructure Europe at Dematic. "Level 3 combines the expertise of network specialists who excel in their jobs every day, and the company helps us manage our total cost of ownership for our network applications."
In February, Level 3 signed a deal with London-based marketing agency Hogarth Worldwide to provide secure sharing and back-up of TV, print and digital production files.
