Gigabit Communications, LLC has joined the DE-CIX transport partner program by establishing a Layer 2 Network to Network Interface (NNI) connection with DE-CIX Dallas.

It means Gigabit’s network can now deliver connectivity to the largest carrier and data centre neutral IX operating in Texas and customers in the Austin, San Antonio, and RGV metro regions can now tap public peering, direct cloud access, and private connectivity solutions over a single port.

“DE-CIX Dallas welcomes Gigabit Communications and its extensive network reach as a transport partner, now enabling network operators throughout the South Texas market to readily access a major peering exchange,” said Ed d’Agostino, VP and GM of DE-CIX North America.

“Each Transport Partner connected to our platform brings the benefit of their unique network coverage as well as new customer and data center relationships. As a new Transport Partner, we are excited about Gigabit’s strong network connectivity, which allows us to serve more regional customers across our market leading IX platform," he added.

Gigabit’s fibre infrastructure provides internet access, private Ethernet and cloud connectivity to leading providers including Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Coupled with fixed wireless solutions it offers speeds from 100Mbps to 100Gbps designed with full redundancy. The company promises a 99.99% uptime SLA with service turned up in 45-days, including expedited access to DE-CIX Dallas.

D’Agostino added: “The DE-CIX Transport Partner Program is our way to serve a much greater region by reducing the costs of connectivity, and thereby enabling many more networks outside of our metro areas to access our exchanges cost effectively.”
