FirstLight Fiber has promoted Katie Brandl to become the company’s VP of carrier and wholesale sales.

For the past two years Brandl (pictured) was director of strategic sales, focusing on healthcare and financial services.

Brandl said: “The carrier/wholesale team is a group of highly accomplished professionals, and I am excited to continue to grow the business and build upon our long-standing partnerships with our customers.”

FirstLight said its carrier and wholesale team is focused on enabling providers to use its fibre network and capabilities to reach deeper and wider in communities to serve customers within the FirstLight footprint.

It also provides long-haul connectivity solutions and path diversity.

FirstLight says its 24,000 mile (38,000km) network covers Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. Its network map also shows a connection across the Canadian border to Montréal. In the south, it reaches Ashburn, Virginia.

Brandl began her career in telecom at Rochester Telephone selling operator services in 1994 and went on to work for Global Crossing as a carrier account executive.

She was director of carrier sales at Fibertech Networks, then at Lightower and Crown Castle before joining FirstLight in 2019.

Matt Jancovic, chief revenue officer for FirstLight, said: “Not only are we committed to delivering top-flight solutions to our carrier and wholesale customers, but also to building relationships and establishing trusted partnerships. Katie’s leadership will undoubtedly help us continue to foster positive relationships and move FirstLight forward in the carrier and wholesale space.”
