Telia Carrier has expanded its network deployments by launching two new points of presence (PoPs) at CoreSite’s Secaucus, New Jersey (NY2) and Boston, Massachusetts (BO1) data centres.

Through this partnership, NY2 and BO1 give enterprise customers low-latency connectivity to Telia Carrier's IP network - AS1299, connecting multiple facilities across the country.

Telia Carrier chose CoreSite’s facility in Secaucus, New Jersey, to serve customer requirements on the campus and enhance connectivity to an ecosystem of more than 220 organisations comprised of cloud, application, media and IT service providers. In addition, NY2 connects to major financial exchanges and provides interconnections to CoreSite’s Manhattan facility, NY1.

At the same, CoreSite’s facility in Boston, Massachusetts was selected to provide diversity in order to enhance the network interconnection, locally and internationally, with access to multiple diverse subsea cables to Europe.

“Secaucus and Boston are exciting markets representing leading medical, high tech and gaming use cases. The new Telia Carrier PoPs connect directly to our campus ecosystem and are a great option for customers who are looking to reduce latency and improve performance while also increasing reliability, capacity and global reach,” said Ben Green, vice president of sales and network at CoreSite.

“Building on our long-standing relationship with Telia Carrier, we can offer customers access to the company’s number one ranked internet backbone network across our highly connected data centre footprint which offers the ideal location to support hybrid IT strategies with native on-ramps to all the major cloud providers.”

In total, CoreSite’s New York area data centre campus has over 200,000 operating data centre square feet, while the Boston facility has nearly 143,000 square feet of operating data centre space.

Telia Carrier has already deployed PoPs at CoreSite Denver, Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Chicago and Reston data centres.

“As we move ever closer to the edge, Telia Carrier’s growing footprint with CoreSite fits into our broader strategy to support global and North American expansion across key metro centres,” said Art Kazmierczak, director of business and network development, Telia Carrier.

“Working with CoreSite we have efficiently expanded our network, offering scalability, unique diversity, automation and security that customers demand. On top of this we work with a great team that can get the job done, which translates into a seamless customer experience as we support enterprises with their digital transformation needs.”
