Passage Telecom to offer Cloud Phone in Nigeria
Nigerian ISP Passage Telecom is to resell Cloud Phone services, complete with Nigerian telephone numbers, under the brand Business Call Solutions.
The development followed a white label partnership between Passage and US cloud solutions operator Voxox, and is the first implementation of Voxox Cloud Phone on the African continent.
Supporting business customers outside of major urban areas, Business Call Solutions will feature Voxox' patent-pending VoIP codec, for high quality voice calls in poor bandwidth conditions.
“Nigeria has 41.5 million SMEs and we are excited to partner with Passage Telecom to offer these businesses a simple, convenient and economical way to modernise their business phone communications,” said Bryan Hertz, CEO, and co-founder of Voxox. “Cloud Phone and it's integral TextMeIn Text Message Marketing platform enable the micro businesses to work from anywhere, which is a critical capability during the Covid-19 pandemic and the following new normal. We look forward to working with Passage Telecom to further maximise the impact of Cloud Phone in the Nigerian market.”
Voxox is hosting Passage Telecom's service from its US and European data centres and supports Passage local billing in Nigeria through a merchant payment gateway integration. Voxox Unified Communications Platform as a Service (UCPaaS) is integrated into Passage Telecom's network through SIP and SMPP connectivity.
“Our goal is to enable small businesses in Nigeria to access enterprise-level products at an affordable price, Passage being one of those offerings in our suite of digital services. It is an incredibly useful solution for today's micro SMEs and entrepreneurs on-the-go, thanks to its host of work-oriented functions that easily turn any smartphone into a call center,” said Seyi Akinseloyin, Passage Telecom's CEO “We are pleased to partner with Voxox to empower small businesses in Nigeria.”
Passage will later introduce TextMeIn from VOXOX, text message marketing solution, which will enable the small businesses to prepare and launch bulk SMS campaigns, a service currently only available through specialized carriers to large enterprises.
