Stack Infrastructure has announced plans to significantly expand its Chicago data centre campus.

The new site will located adjacent to Stack’s existing facility, which currently delivers 13MW of critical power and 221,000sqft of space.

“Chicago is one of a number of important and growing markets for our clients, and as a result, it is a key market for STACK. We’re committed to investing here so that we can continue to support our clients and stay ahead of their needs,” said Brian Cox, CEO, Stack Infrastructure. “In keeping with our core commitment to being a trusted partner, this project delivers on our promise to strategically evolve and align our offering with our clients’ growth trajectories.”

The new multi-story data centre will offer at least 20MW of additional critical capacity with the possibility of additional growth, bringing Stack’s total capacity at its Chicago data centre campus to at least 33MW.

Stack says that it is committed to being the data centre industry leader in building and delivering flexible critical infrastructure solutions that meet and support the complex requirements of enterprise and hyperscale deployments. The Company’s offering includes hyperscale campuses and build-to-suit data centres, immediately available wholesale colocation and private data suites, and powered shell options.

In May, Mike Casey was named as the company’s new chief data centre officer. In his new role, Casey will lead the engineering, commissioning and operations of Stack’s data centre portfolio. To the position, he brings a proven track record of delivering customised data centre solutions and providing high client satisfaction.

“I am excited to join Stack at this remarkable time of expansion and unlimited opportunity,” said Casey.
