Retelit has signed up for the global telecommunications next-generation enterprise network alliance (ngena).

By joining ngena, Retelit will deliver global software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN) services to its enterprise customers and ngena will benefit from Retelit’s top connectivity services in Italy in order to serve the alliance partner’s customers.

“Retelit is committed to continuously develop and deploy cutting edge, innovative and secure network services for our enterprise customers. We have been focusing our strategy on software-defined, hyperconvergents and native clouds solutions aiming to ensure maximum flexibility of the infrastructure and the provision of services without technological and geographical constraints,” said Federico Protto, chief executive officer at Retelit.

“Through the shared network of ngena, we are now able to provide a truly global SD-WAN platform and so further enlarge our service portfolio. We are proud to be part of such a unique top class players’ alliance.”

SD-WAN allows enterprises to benefit from consistent data connectivity services around the globe, turning the networks of alliance partners into one software-defined network (SDN). The architecture is based on sharing the local network assets using cloud and virtualisation technology to provide hybrid VPN services. This allows enterprise customers of each member of the alliance to have a global data connectivity network, which is secure, stable, scalable and easy to use, while being supported by the local access and local care of each alliance member.

Alessandro Adriani, managing director at ngena, added: “We are welcoming Retelit – one of the most agile telecommunication service providers in Italy – into the ngena alliance. Retelit can deploy the ngena SD-WAN solution to enterprise customers looking for reliable, secure and fast to deploy business networks.”

ngena was founded by Deutsche Telekom, CenturyLink, Reliance Jio and SK Telekom in early 2016, the Alliance has now grown to include several new telecom partners, such as: A1, Altice with SFR and Portugal Telecom, BT, China Unicom Global, Expereo, KPN, MTN, Neutrona, PCCW Global, Retelit, Starhub, Sunrise, Telus, VEON and Viettel, plus technology partners Cisco, Comarch and Equinix.
