Bluebird Network to launch its first 100G services
US telecommunications company Bluebird Network has built its first customer-facing 100G diverse circuits.
The new customer circuits, which total 200G, has already been installed and run along two existing fibre routes from a metropolitan centre to a rural part of Missouri.
“The deployment of customer-facing 100G services shows how the growing need for high-capacity broadband is increasing as more devices require high-speed connections,” states Michael Morey, president and CEO of Bluebird Network. “Bluebird Network had the foresight to upgrade our network to be 100G capable so that when the customer need arose, Bluebird could respond and deliver the service to the customer quickly.”
As a company Bluebird Network provides high-bandwidth services to both rural and urban areas strictly in the Midwest, linking these rural areas to major cities. Network services currently provided by the company to both enterprise and carrier customers include: bandwidth, Metro Ethernet, WAN Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access, E-Line Services, Ethernet Virtual Private Lan Service (E-LAN) and Mobile Backhaul Transport services.
“Bluebird Network provides an expansive network and state-of-the-art technology,” continued Morey. “Our talented network team is able to recognize and avoid obstacles and implement new technologies quickly. For example, Bluebird Network has future plans to move toward a 400G core network.”
In May, Bluebird Network announced the expansion of its fibre-optic network. The company will be adding 45 fibre route miles in the St. Louis metropolitan area and St. Charles County, specifically within Clayton, Wentzville, and Weldon Springs, Missouri. The new network to begin construction in May 2018, with completion set for the end of Q4 2018.
