PacketFabric expands its Connectivity-as-a-Service platform to London

PacketFabric is expanding its Connectivity-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform to the Equinix LD6 International Business Exchange in London.

The flagship Equinix facility located in the London Slough data centre campus is the first data centre outside of the US to be added to the PacketFabric network, marking the start off the company’s expansion into Europe.

“It’s always been PacketFabric’s long-term vision to expand outside of the United States to better serve our customers with international interests,” states Chad Milam, president and COO of PacketFabric. “We’re excited to add Equinix’s flagship LD6 data centre to our fabric, as the start of our global expansion.”

Thanks to the expansion, PacketFabric customers will be able to access the Equinix LD6 data centre from any location on the PacketFabric network. The highly scalable Connectivity-as-a-Service platform provides network connectivity on demand. In comparison to legacy carriers, PacketFabric offers connectivity speeds from 1Gbps to multi-100GBps, instantly available through an intuitive portal and API, which reduces the sourcing ad provisioning times of network services to a matter of minutes.

By establishing a PoP at Equinix’s LD6 data centre, located at the hub of Europe's largest financial market, PacketFabric’s customers seeking international connectivity options in London will be able to gain access to advanced networking solutions through its highly-scalable, automated software-defined networking (SDN) platform.

At the start of the year, PacketFabric began offering private network connectivity to Microsoft for its US-based customers using Azure ExpressRoute. The service is available from more than 150 locations in 17 metro markets, using its dedicated cloud connectivity product PacketCOR.

The news came only a month after the company secured a $25 million investment in series B funding from lead investor NantCapital. Since then, the cash injection has been used to the rapid growth and growing demand for its connectivity-as-a-service platform which was launched in 2017.
