EdgeConneX says it provides secure connectivity between the Phoenix-IX node inside its local EDC and the Phoenix-IX core switches. It offers a new diverse dark fibre path that can be used by the local internet community to ensure dynamic content delivery to consumers in the area.

The remote switch enables local EdgeConneX customers, including wireless carriers, service providers, content delivery networks and enterprises, to have direct access to Phoenix-IX peering services as well as additional offerings, such as multilateral peering agreement route servers and private virtual local area networks.
