The company agreed to acquire the Canadian based company from Madison Dearborn last month.
Quickplay is the platform provider for AT&T’s U-verse TV Everywhere offering which will support a range of streaming deals the operator will launch via DirecTV later in the year. AT&T acquired DirecTV in 2015 for $48.5 billion, making it the largest pay T provider globally.
"The deal complements AT&T’s strategy to deliver video content wherever and whenever viewers want it by adding a leader in powering over-the-top (OTT) video and TV Everywhere services to AT&T’s portfolio," said the company.
The operator said it plans to retain over 350 employees and contractor at Quickplay.
