AT&T to sell $2 billion worth of data centres
AT&T is allegedly selling some of its data centre assets worth approximately $2 billion, in a bid to pay down its debt.
The operator has been looking at ways to reduce its debt and raise funds for new investments, sources told reporters yesterday.
AT&T sold its operations in Connecticut to regional operator Frontier Communications for $2 billion in December 2013, and in July 2014, sold its stake in América Móvil to Carlos Slim’s real estate firm, Inmobiliaria Carso.
AT&T declined to comment and the sources asked to be anonymous because the matter is not public.
