Troy Cablevision deploys Optelian’s 100G network solution

Service provider Troy Cablevision has deployed Optelian’s 100G solution on its network.

The Alabama-based operator used Optelian’s MPX-9110 Flexible 100Gbps Platform to deliver high capacity solutions to schools, universities, banks, hospitals, healthcare organisations and government and military installations.

Spanning six Alabama counties from Montgomery to Dothan, the enhanced network was designed to address the need for increased bandwidth to SMBs and enterprises.

“Never before has there been a sequenced network from Dothan to Montgomery. In delivering this critical inaugural connection, we wanted a high capacity platform that would allow us to easily scale but still efficiently use our fibre,” said Conley Freeman, CTO of Troy Cable.

“We were able to provision Optelian’s 100G solution quickly, and it is an extremely compact, powerful and spectrally efficient solution,” he added.

Troy Cable was afforded the chance to updates its infrastructure through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which looked to invest in education, infrastructure, health, and green energy.
