Cologix opens data centre in Dallas

Co-location provider, Cologix, has launched its second data centre in the Dallas technology facility InfoMart, USA.

The 12,000 square foot data centre is said to hold over 300 cabinets and is supported by 3.2MW of power.

It is designed to enable customers to directly interconnect with existing customers and provide access to over 25 networks in the company’s ‘Meet Me Room’, as well other tenants in the carrier hotel.

Features of the data centre include hot aisle containment pods, modular power distribution units and modular in-row cooling technology.

Cologix believes that the central location and network density of Dallas-Fort Worth make it an ideal internet peering point and a natural location for regional and national network connections.

“The continued rapid adoption of the cloud by all customer segments is dramatically elevating traffic and network performance requirements, which continues to heighten the value of co-location and interconnection options in the downtown InfoMart,” said Grant van Rooyen, CEO of Cologix.

“Cologix is focussed on providing our customers network neutral access to broad connectivity options, represented today in this new Dallas inventory.”
