AT&T to adopt new tactics to secure T-Mobile USA takeover?

According to Bloomberg, AT&T is approaching its smaller US rivals to sell spectrum and subscribers in an attempt to save its $39 billion takeover of T-Mobile USA.

The company is reportedly approaching MetroPCS Communications and Leap Wireless International regarding selling spectrum and subscribers, as well as weighing up the interest of CenturyLink, Dish Network and Sprint Nextel in buying assets.

The potential move comes as AT&T looks to recover its agreement to acquire T-Mobile USA after the US Department of Justice blocked the deal on antitrust grounds in late August (click here).

Since then AT&T has reportedly been planning to go to court over the decision and offer concessions in order to reach a settlement (click here).
