Sidera Networks expands fibre networks

US-based Sidera Networks has expanded its fibre networks in several new data centres in Northern Virginia, including a new campus in Latisys-Ashburn.

The Latisys-Ashburn facility includes a newly built data centre measuring 71,800 square foot, and an adjacent 63,000 square foot facility with over 40 megawatts of available power capacity. Sidera believes that with the increasing adoption of high-density computing the expansion is necessary to improve solutions for enterprises across all industry sectors.

“The rising cost of power is making our data centre and co-location services the ideal solution for enterprises, government agencies and service providers,” said David Haskell, regional sales director at Latisys- Ashburn. “Sidera’s network provides the accessibility, reliability and flexibility we require to ensure top performance of our customers’ mission-critical applications.”

As data centre and co-location services become more important to companies, there is clearly an increasing investment to address the increasing requirements for capacity in the space.

“The businesses co-located at this facility can leverage Sidera’s network for high capacity, low latency connections, and benefit from working with a trusted partner committed to optimising its clients’ business performance,” added Maura Mahoney, VP of marketing and business development at Sidera.
