Real Future, a subsidiary of True Corporation, has completed the roll-out of its 4G LTE network in Thailand, in partnership with Swedish vendor Ericsson.

The Thai operator is now able to deliver 4G services to the central, western, northern and southern regions of Thailand; the remaining areas are due to go live by Q1 2014.

“We are happy to offer our subscribers an improved user experience, with faster web browsing and downloads,” said Vichaow Rakphongphairoj, managing director and COO at True Corporation.

“This further strengthens our mobile broadband leadership as the first to launch 4G/LTE in Thailand. It means more exciting opportunities for businesses, as well as new services for subscribers."

Ericsson has deployed its RBC 6000 portfolio of base stations for the roll-out, as well as a range of services such as project management, system integration, interoperability testing, network design and implementation.

“We are pleased to be True's technology partner, and as a global HSPA and LTE leader, we are committed to work with True Mobile Group in meeting the highly growing demand for mobile broadband service in Thailand,” said Camilla Vautier, head of Ericsson Thailand.

Real Future announced Ericsson as its strategic partner for the development of a mobile broadband network in the country in August last year.
