The first round of bidding has started in Norway’s mobile spectrum auction, according to reports.

The Norwegian Post and Telecommunications Authority (PT) is selling spectrum in the 800MHz, 900MHz and 1800MHz bands and expects to conclude the process in a week.

According to a timetable of events published by PT, successful bidders and their respective spectrum blocks will be announced on December 6, 2013.

Financial information will be available on December 10 and in the interim, participants will bid for the specific location of their spectrum within the frequency band.

Bidders and their preferred blocks have not yet been revealed.

PT opened its registration for bidders at the end of October this year.
