BICS partners with cVidya for fraud solution

BICS has partnered with solution provider cVidya to use its FraudView service for detecting and preventing fraud across its wholesale network.

BICS has identified itself as vulnerable to fraud and other market-related risks, which has increased as its wholesale network reportedly experiences a high level of voice traffic from its increased global reach.

The FraudView solution is designed to help BICS deploy suitable controls on its network, and consequently tackle wholesale-specific fraud types such as FAS (false answering supervision), IRSF (international revenue share fraud) and PBX hacking.

"A robust proof-of-concept process, together with cVidya's proven fraud management skills and international wholesale expertise, convinced us that cVidya is the ideal partner for this important project through which BICS re-affirms its aim to fight fraud,” said Jorn Vercamert, VP of voice business at BICS.

As part of the agreement, BICS and cVidya are expected to build a global fraud knowledge centre for sharing latest trends, hotlists and other valuable related information between FraudView users worldwide.

“This is a ground-breaking partnership between two leaders in their fields,” said Alon Aginsky, president and CEO at cVidya.

“Working with BICS will enable our advanced fraud prevention solutions to gain even greater traction among communications service providers. This partnership will also accelerate our drive to provide highly-flexible and cost-effective cloud-based solutions to the telecoms industry.”

The partnership follows BICS’ alliance with Airtel Africa in November last year, to facilitate mobile money transfers for Airtel Africa customers across the continent.
