Vodafone Oman, the Sultanate of Oman's recently launched mobile network, is to use Netcracker Technology's Digital BSS.

Described as a configurable and flexible solution it enables fast time-to-market while offering a rich digital customer experience and will become the foundation of Vodafone’s BSS2Cloud initiative.

“We selected Netcracker’s cloud-based Digital BSS solution because of its industry-proven ability to monetise innovative services with superior customer experience,” said Stelios Savvides, CTO at Vodafone Oman.

“In the rapidly evolving digital economy, BSS in the cloud will enable greater automation and speed, both of which are critical for operators to differentiate themselves from the competition,” said Benedetto Spaziani, General Manager at Netcracker. “We look forward to helping Vodafone Oman succeed with this massive endeavor as it continues to evolve and transform in an ever-changing market,” Savvides added.

NEC subsidiary Netcracker said that by reducing time-to-market for new services and enabling more visibility and control over customer management, the cloud BSS offering accelerates onboarding and service delivery capabilities and will introduce new opportunities for Vodafone Oman’s customers, including a personalised, best-in-class customer engagement across all digital channels.

Netcracker offers a cloud BSS to accelerate onboarding and service delivery capabilities. Earlier this year Fastweb renewed its contract with Netcracker for the upgrade of its network using Netcracker Digital BSS and extended its use of Netcracker Support and Maintenance.

Back in 2019, Netcracker’s Network Domain Orchestration solution was used by Deutsche Telekom to automate multi-domain network discovery and visualisation, multi-layer traffic optimisation, IP and optical backbone provisioning as well as multi-vendor network orchestration.

Vodafone, which won its licence to operate in the Sultanate back in January, is Oman's third operator.
