UpCloud has announced the launch of its eleventh data centre - in Warsaw, Poland.

After Helsinki, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Madrid, the company announced the opening of their data centre in Warsaw.

The company said the latest addition to its data centres will ensure better service and support to customers located in Central Europe, which is one of UpCloud's most significant markets.

"We wanted to open an availability zone specifically in Warsaw, since we have seen so many incredible companies coming from there. We want to support them even more by bringing the new data centre closer," said UpCloud's founder and CTO Joel Pihlajamaa.

The PL-WAW1 is UpCloud's eleventh data centre in total and its seventh facility in Europe. The facility is situated in new and modern facilities of Equinix IBX WA3 data centre opened in March 2020.

“It features the same performance as all UpCloud's data centres together with the highest reliability and security standards,” said the company.

“On top of that, once fully completed, the entire data centre platform will be supplied with 100% renewable energy from the wind.

“The Warsaw data centre is also running fully on the AMD EPYC processor architecture, the new breed of server processors with more CPU cores and increased performance on virtually all workloads. The PL-WAW1 is now ready for deploying servers from the UpCloud Control Panel.”

Two weeks ago, the cloud hosting company opened a new data centre in Madrid, Spain, in a bid to continue their international expansion.

UpCloud’s new data centre is located in Madrid, and it is the company’s first data centre in Southern Europe.

The company revealed that the new facility is available for deploying servers, and it can be found at the UpCloud Control Panel as ES-MAD1.

By the end of 2021, UpCloud said it plans to open multiple new sites in Europe and in various regions around the world.
