Cellcom Israel Ltd has appointed Ilan Sigal as its VP of business development and the CEO of its newly acquired subsidiary Golan Telecom.

Both appointments are effective 1 February, 2021.

Sigal’s career has seen him work for Pelephone communications Ltd, D.B.S Satellite Services and Bezeq International Ltd, among others.

Gaining a BA in communications and management and an MBA from Ono Academic College, in 2001 Sigal joined 012 Golden Lines, holding the position of marketing director for private sector ISP and voice before leaving in July of 2007.

From there he headed marketing at Bezeq, the Israeli telecommunications company, serving in the role until 2016. In February of that year he joined Pelephone as VP of marketing, where he remained until this year.

Cellcom completed its acquisition of Golan Telecom in August in deal worth US$161.4 million.

Prior to finalisation, both Cellcom and Bezeq Israel Telecom announced multi-million-dollar bids to buy Golan Telecom.
