Enea, a cloud software provider, has signed a three-year contract with a Tier 1 mobile operator in the Middle East valued at $1.3 million,

The contract is the for deployment of a traffic management platform and related software modules for acceleration and optimisation of the operator’s network.

"This new contract confirms our leading position in Video Traffic Management", says Jan Häglund (pictured), president and CEO of Enea.

"We are uniquely positioned to support customers with software to expand mobile network capacity and to improve network speeds."

In addition, the contract includes perpetual software licenses and associated services, such as integration, support, and maintenance.

License revenues, which account for the larger part of the contract, will be recognised in 2020, starting in the second quarter. Support and maintenance revenues are planned for the full contract period.

The Enea Openwave Traffic Management solutions alleviate RAN congestion and maximise customer quality of experience.

In related news, Enea unveiled its end-to-end 5G data management suite in December, enabling interoperability between network functions in a software-defined 5G core.

Enea has integrated and updated its cloud-native 5G data suite to support automated network processes and data monetisation, which gives operators a best of breed option for management of data in 5G networks.
