The software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) partnership will see Versa Networks’ Secure Cloud IP architecture, which is a next-generation software platform that delivers integrated cloud, networking and security services, help to accelerate the productivity of GlobalConnect’s 18,000 sq m of data centre space and over 42,000km of optical fibre network.
“Our ideal partner needed to support complex cloud integration use cases while being flexible and highly efficient in multiple deployment scenarios, and having a native focus on integration of security features – a combination of competences that are rare in the software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) market space,” said Sebastian Vad Lorentzen, head of SD-WAN engineering at GlobalConnect.
“With the Versa Networks partnership, GlobalConnect aims to efficiently and securely manage more features with a higher level of flexibility across more domains and segments than practically possible with legacy technologies.”
Versa Networks said this latest contract win was a true testament to everyone coming together across Versa to support GlobalConnect during the proof of concept engagement. GlobalConnect chose Versa as a partner over competition from VeloCloud, Silver Peak, Cisco, Nokia, Fortinet and Juniper.
“This was a challenging process and we have an equally ambitious partner to go forward with; I’m sure we will both push ourselves to new heights of innovation and performance,” added Chris Kenny, vice president of sales and general manager of EMEA.
“We are all excited in anticipation of what could be an exhilarating journey of SD-WAN expansion across Scandinavian enterprise networks.”
