Italian IXP, Milan Internet eXchange (MIX), is proud to announce that the Open Hub Med (OHM) consortium is going to expand its data centre with a second data room.

OHM, which is based in Palermo, Sicily, is a Tier-III equivalent data centre recently built in an ISO14001-certified campus, hosting IT and TLC companies and offering easy access to reach the European, MEA and Far East regions.

The consortium was co-founded by MIX together with other internet and telco companies. Today it has 11 members: Eolo, Equinix Italia, Fastweb, In-site, GTT/Interoute, Italtel, MIX, Retelit, Supernap Italia, VueTel, XMED consortium.

OHM is a carrier-neutral facility, in a natural privileged position: Sicily, the region where several submarine cables land. OHM data centre carrier room is currently hosting network PoP of six carriers: Eolo, Fastweb, GTT, Mandarin, Retelit and Vuetel, and a full MIX PoP.
