NxtVn snares AMS-IX CEO Job Witteman to become COO

Data centre park operator NxtVn has hired Job Witteman from AMS-IX to be its chief operating officer.

Witteman, who was CEO of AMS-IX in Amsterdam for 17 years, announced his new move at Capacity Europe in London this week.

“After many years dedicating my passion to connecting the world through AMS-IX I am excited about the next phase of my career and the opportunity to build the team that will deliver NxtVn’s digital infrastructure of the future,” he said.

NxtVn said it has been promoting its idea of the neutral digital infrastructure offering on a global scale with the promise of fast go-to-market and cost efficient deployments of digital infrastructure, serving the worldwide surging demand.

After locking its first six sites in the target five countries, NxtVn is moving toward executing on its commitment to deliver world-class data centre parks to serve data centre owners and operators equally, said founder and CEO Khaled Sedrak.

“Hiring a world class team is imperative to fulfil our promise. Job’s true believe in neutrality and open access will be instrumental in fostering the vibrancy and diversity of NxtVn parks’ ecosystem.”

He said that the success that AmsIX has achieved on a global scale, moving from a small Dutch initiative to a globally-trusted and neutral powerhouse, is one of Wittman’s major achievements. “Job has also contributed to the overall Amsterdam and the Netherlands ecosystem success in attracting a big number of data centres and internet companies.”

Witteman became CEO of AMS-IX in January 2000, having previously been a founding board member of the AMS-IX Association that was formed in 1997. Earlier he was a senior marketing executive with cable operator UPC – now part of Liberty Global – and was with the GlobalOne joint venture.

NxtVn vice chairman Adrianus Melkert said: “Coming up with visionary ideas and standing firm, topped by proven execution acumen are key characteristics of Job’s leadership capabilities. We at NxtVn are confident that such an experienced executive will not only add value to the NxtVn strategy but also will be a core contributor in shaping it.”
