Tata Communications launches SD-WAN product
Tata Communications has launched an SD-WAN product as part of it cloud-enablement platform IZO.
The Indian telecoms giant will rollout the Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution to more than 130 countries, including both developed and emerging markets, it said.
The product will be incorporated into Tata’s IZO ecosystem, and will offer more flexible network services for enterprises looking to expand or introduce new products and services with greater speed.

“But the management of a multitude of applications, clouds and connections which power the platform economy can be hugely challenging for organisations.
“Our IZO cloud enablement platform and its latest addition, IZO SDWAN, harness our unparalleled global reach and our partnerships to tackle these challenges and enable organisations to unleash the growth potential that new markets, geographies and business models bring through a scalable, borderless and easy-to-manage network.”
Speaking to Capacity, Wong said Tata had been trialling its SD-WAN product for several months. SD-WAN is a growing area for carriers who are looking for ways to build more responsive networks, with both Vodafoneand AT&T announcing plans to launch an SD-WAN product in 2017.
IZO SDWAN operates as a fully managed and modular overlay service which integrates with Tata’s IP network. The carrier said it is also deploying 20 new cloud gateways for IZO SDWAN, with more in the pipeline, offering secure connectivity to clouds from Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft and Salesforce.
