MBI claims the service will offer the lowest known latency between Tokyo and Singapore at less than 63 milliseconds per round trip. MBI said it also plans to launch other routes in the region in the near future.
The firm will also offer Asia-sourced market data using a mixture of microwave and fibre path through its Quincy Extreme Data service, it said.
McKay Brothers first launched a microwave route in the US in 2012, offering low latency connections between Chicago and New Jersey. It has since expanded to Europe, and has 18 points of presence in locations in the US, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Japan and Singapore.
It already offers market data through QED on its US network, as well as its European routes between London and Frankfurt, which launched in 2014.
"We are thrilled to offer Asia traders and risk managers a level playing field for the best latency between Tokyo and Singapore," says MBI managing director Francois Tyc. "We will expand with other Asia routes in the near future.
"Our commitment to an equal latency for all subscribers is a core principle of McKay. We believe that markets are stronger and fairer when the best latency is available to all participants."
