Level 3 rolls out Ethernet services in 15 European markets

Level 3 Communications has launched its agile Ethernet services in 15 additional European markets to provide global businesses with greater visibility and control over their enterprise networks.

Businesses can now leverage Level 3’s Metro 2.0 Ethernet platform in 290 markets around the world “to run more efficient and adaptable networks through solutions bolstered by virtualisation and software-defined networking (SDN)”, with flexible bandwidth options ranging from 2Mbps to 6Gbps.

“Enterprises are undergoing a rapid digital transformation that is only accelerating,” said Andrew Crouch, regional president of EMEA and the global accounts management division at Level 3 Communications.

“The world they are operating in today will be vastly different next year; to compete, they will need their network resources to be just as agile and flexible as they are reliable and secure.”

Level 3’s Ethernet services have private connectivity, scalable bandwidth and custom configuration options for secure, high-speed connections between corporate headquarters, public and private data centres and public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

In March, Level 3 announced its initial Metro 2.0 Ethernet expansion in Europe and further roll outs are planned for the Asia-Pacific region for early 2017.

Last week, CentruyLink announced it was to merge with Level 3 Communications in an acquisition worth around $34 billion.
