Superloop builds into Singapore’s SGX

Superloop has announced that it has extended its dark fibre network with a direct route to the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) data centre.

The Asian dark fibre and Ethernet provider, which has been building new ducts, manholes and dark fibre connectivity to expand its infrastructure, says the financial investment presents “a significant opportunity for financial institutions requiring reliable, low-latency connectivity into the Singapore Stock Exchange”.

Low-latency is a significant factor for enterprises transacting on the SGX and Superloop claims its network has the most direct connections between any two locations, with no exchanges or central offices adding to the latency, adding: “The latency is minimised further with an agile network design and the latest in fibre-optic technology."

The development is part of a long-term commitment to serve its customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The high speed, low-latency network, in conjunction with its partners, provides the global financial community faster access to Asian markets.

Superloop had been planning for the final segments to be active by the end of July 2016 and has previously hinted that in addition to the works for the SGX, the network path will also enable simplified expansions into other data centres in the area, such as IO and NTT.

Earlier this year, Superloop announced the launch of its metro Ethernet and wavelength product in Singapore and Hong Kong.
